Popular Music Genres
This test data is being compiled to allow bands to pick the major genre and
class of music that they perform. We can then use this information to display
for you the types of music that you prefer. We decided to publish our list
building because we could not find one on the internet and it may be useful for
other purposes.
The "Popular Era" may not be the first occurrence of the genre but represents
a decade when the music type was seemingly at its most popular. Some genres
reappear as "revivals", no doubt this will continue into the future.
