Camping and Caravanning is extremely popular the the United Kingdom and although membership is not compulsory the Camping and Caravanning Club is the national representative organisation. The National Forestry Commission offer an alternative, and possibly quieter, camping grounds within the national forests. Their website Forest Holidays is worth a visit as in addition to campsite facilities they also have a number of Forest Cabins for hire at very reasonable rates
