No site included in the British Towns Directory may contain pornographic material of any kind and we also strongly prefer sites that are members of an Internet Rating Organisation. If you are not already we suggest a visit to http://www.fosi.org/icra/ as it will only take you a few moments to register your site.
We do not condone any form of censorship however there is a place for everything and extreme views are not welcome here, our visitors expect to find the broad spectrum of views and opinion that is quintessentially British and as such we will favour those sites reflecting this view.
There are however some subjects that although controversial we will allow them to be included within the British Towns Network, these may include but not restricted to matters pertaining to the Environment, Development and Communications. If in doubt please submit your site and we will inspect and give you our opinion as to the likelihood of inclusion in the Directory.
We have a Code of Practise with regard to advertising on sites, that whatever advertising appears it must be relevant to the site and it’s chosen subject. The only exceptions to this are the limited banner advertising placed on a site by it’s hosting organisation where such a site is hosted for free and that provided as a targeted stream, such as AdSense by Google. This advertising is out of the control of the site webmaster.
