This facility allows you to search the nation and find
places in the UK whether that is a city, town, parish, village or community nearly
anywhere within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland, and its Territories and Crown Dependencies

first 6 characters of any city, town or village into the search
box below to find it in the database of
(nearly!) the entire United Kingdom and its Dependencies then either
press "Submit" or hit the Carriage Return/Enter Key.

If you are unsure of the spelling of the location your are
searching for then it is best to use fewer search characters,
the minimum is 3. The database will return all those location we
have that are similar to your search request. You can easily try
again with a different variation of the spelling if the database
does not return any locations |

|
If you are searching for a location like "St. Ives" then
simply enter "St Ives". Do not enter a period/full stop. We do
not use punctuation in our location names as there are far to
many variations. |

|
|
Why do we suggest 6 characters? Because of
places that begin with "Llan",
"West", "East" etc. There are so many locations that begin with
these prefixes that we suggest that you cut the list down to a
manageable that you can read! ALSO the database will only return
a maximum of 200 results. |

|
|
There are over 16,000 entries in our
database and the quantity is growing almost daily. As new towns
and villages are being built and boundaries moved this will be a
continuous activity. If you are searching for a place that you
