WARNING - This information is provided for advisory purposes therefore if you are planning an expedition we recommend that you obtain a detailed weather forecast before setting off!

The information shown on the map above is decoded and updated automatically from the weather station metaR reports submitted to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. If information is not received from a particular station after a period of 2hrs we show the [-- No Data --] symbol however if for technical reasons we are unable to update more than 60% of the stations we do not refresh any of the data, therefore check the date and time at the top of the map.

Being a "maritime" county, that roughly means "an island", the British Isles has a varied weather pattern greatly influenced by the seas around it. The normal topic of conversation revolves around the weather therefore it is some what surprising that we don't actually take far more interest in the weather than just a subject of conversation!

If you wish to know more about the weather then you will find here "live" weather data displayed as a summary map above and more specific detailed weather maps if you use the menu on the left. This data is supplied by Meteorologica and if your interest is awakened then visit the Meteorologica website and see what they have to offer. You can even set up your own weather station.
