The Maxwell Hall, Port William is a large public hall owned by Dumfries and Galloway Council. It is well used for meetings, social groups, bingo, mothers and toddlers, sports, coffee mornings and productions.

The Maxwell Hall has 2 main rooms - the main hall and the supper room. An additional 2 rooms are available upstairs for small meetings. A well equipped kitchen and disabled ramps and toilets complete the building. Numerous tables and chairs can be used in each room. The front standing area is fairly substantial with room for several tables - this area is separate from the pavement by concrete bollards which run along the front boundary. This area can also be used for disabled parking off road. The main hall has an elevated stage with access of 3 stairs on either side.
