Silverwood miners welfare was a club where miners and members of the public could go for a well earned drink after a hard days graft, but in 2001 with the liecsenced trade in decline the management sort to look into dieversifying the business, we applied to C.R.R [Coalfileds Regeneration Trust] for a grant, which was given to the tune of £650,000, which transformed the club into a thriveing resource centre.

We now have a IT suite which houses 17 computers, 4 rooms which 2 are available to let as office's [the other 2 are used by the local education service on a yearly basis] and a main hall which is hired out in the day by local business's for confrence's and such.

In the evenings when the club is open people hire the hall for wedding's, birthday partys etc, all sort's of function's. We have an oap club were they come to the club every thursday afternoon to play bingo and cards and a good old natter. We have a large stage, so if you want to hire a band to play at your speacial occasion there's no problem and we have ample car parking space which you can view on our website at www.silverwoodminerswelfare.co.uk,
