The windmill at Heapham also known as Hewitt's mill after its initial owner William Hewitt whose family worked the mill for 80 years from 1876 when it was built. The mill was struck by lightening in the 1950's but was restored by the great grandson of its initial owner, Frank Hewitt, the mill is sometimes open to the public.
