Vickers Valentia of Brooklands Museum

A large postcard image dated around 1939 of Vickers Valentia of Brooklands Museum at Brooklands, UK.

A bomber and troop carrier developed from the Vickers Victoria V and VI bomber/transport planes.  It was powered by 2 Bristol Pegasus II L 3 engines.  It was 59 feet long, with a wing span of 87 feet, it had a range of 650 miles.  It entered service with the RAF in 1932, in 1934 No 70 Squadron at Hinaidi, Iraq were equipeed with them, in WWII it was used by the SAS over Burma.  In Great Britain squadron's 31, 70, 216, and 244 were using the Vickers Valentia.  Vickers had an aeroplane site at Brooklands in Surrey, England
