Historical notes about the Parish of Bishopstone (Swindon)

Bishopstone

A 14th Century church - a fine building in itself with the added interests of a cloister, a tomb by Pugin to the rector who restored the church and was killed in 1842 by the fall of stonework during the building of Benjamin Ferry's church of East Grafton. The rector installed the painted pulpit.

6 m south west of Salisbury.
