MIKE PHILLIPS ON ST. CLEARS AND THE SIX NATIONS

I began by asking Mike about his injury problems. How is the injury? It?s much better thanks; I am hoping to play for the Ospreys in the next game. I?m looking forward to it and I can?t wait. Do you think you will play in the Six Nations tournament? I might play, it depends how I play for the Ospreys, if I am in form. Did you watch the England game? Yes, I watched it at home. Like every other Welshman, I was disappointed that the boys lost. The boys in the team will also be disappointed; I really thought that they would come back towards the end. How do you rate the team?s chances against Scotland? Well, they have the home advantage but the pressure will be on. The boys will be up for it though. Do you have any advice for aspiring rugby players in St. Clears? Just keep fit and keep playing. I started playing when I joined the St. Clears under 9?s. There was no pressure we just enjoyed playing. Which team do you think have the best chance of winning the Grand Slam now that Wales, Italy and Scotland are out of the running? France is a great side as are Ireland. France is probably the most dangerous in the tournament. Can Wales still win the championship? I don?t see why not. We have a great home advantage in the tournament. How do you relax? I don?t get much time off to be honest. When I do I tend to be with friends or watch films or just switch off. What do you like about St. Clears? The people are friendly; it is a great place to visit. My family are there and it is a place where I can relax. Do you have a favourite place in the St. Clears area? I like it all really but I like to visit Tenby and Saundersfoot if I ?m in the area. Do you think that you will ever come back and settle in the area? I don?t see why not. My family are there, with my background and family ties it is something which should eventually happen.
