Bridgewater Canal

Photograph from England of Bridgewater Canal uploaded by a website user.

The photograph is taken where Deansgate Lane meets Canal Street and the Bridgewater Canal. It was near this point that the barges from the centre of Manchester used to unload their Night Soil (A Victorian euphemism for human excrement) which was used as fertiliser in the Nurseries and Market Gardens of the area; a lot of which would grow Timperley Early Rhubarb.
