A new book called 'A Hundred Years at Sunnyside', subtitled 'In the Village of Wigginton near York' has been written by ex Wigginton resident, John Edwin Gates and is now available for purchase. It tells of life in the North Yorkshire village of Wigginton from 1912 to 2011 with stories told to John by his grandfather and father.

In an article published in York Press on 21st November 2011 Stephen Lewis writes;

"A Hundred Years at Sunnyside gives some delightful glimpses into the life of a York butcher 100 years ago.......an affectionate tribute to the family and the childhood home John left behind in York, as well as to a way of life sadly now long vanished".

John who was born in York in 1955 moved to Australia in 1995 with his wife, Amanda, and children, Amy and Jack.
