The Foyle is a great broad estuary lying between County Londonderry and the peninsula of Inishowen. It serves as a naval base, and there are port facilities at the city of Londonderry. The Foyle is a confluence of small rivers of which the most important are the Derg, Mourne, Strule, Faughan, Finn and Deele.
