Fine, wild scenery. Here the Capel Curig – Bangor road passes between the mountains Carnedd Dafydd (3,426 feet) and Elidir Fawr (3,029 feet). On a bend of the road are Llyn Ogwen (fishing) and waterfalls, and high up to the south of it is the gap in the black precipitous cliffs called the Devil’s Kitchen. Note the Cannon Rock projecting from the north side of Tryfan, above east end of lake.
Nant Ffrancon Pass used to be within the old county of Caernarvonshire but it is now part of Conwy.
