Manorbier is a small village with a sandy beach and the remains of perfect example of a Norman baron’s residence; Manorbier Castle, with church, mill, dovecot, ponds, park and grove. In 1145 it was the birthplace of Giraldus Cambrensis. Most of the present building is 13th century with Elizabethan additions, but the features mentioned above can readily be traced with the aid of the guide book obtainable locally.
