The new St. Nicholas village website provides residents and visitors with the latest news, maps, a guide to the history of the village and more...
The history of the village, and its local area, is covered in growing detail - the buildings, monuments, sites of interest and the people. The village has close to it ancient remains such as Tinkinswood Burial Chamber, major tourist attractions including the Amelia Trust Farm and Dyffryn House and Gardens, Cottrell Golf Club and a number of listed buildings.
Visitors to the website will also benefit from local maps of walks, places of interest, and probably most useful of all, a map with all the house names listed - as many delivery drivers stop to ask confused residents where a particular house is, and only have a name to go on.
The site will also have a section for local news, plus a page for diary dates, a 'what's on' for the village. Useful links and details will also be included, including the Royal Mail sorting office, the local milkman, the nearest Post Office, St. Nicholas Church in Wales Primary School, St. Nicholas Church, Trehill Presbyterian Church of Wales, community groups, neighbouring community websites and the minutes from the St. Nicholas and Bonvilston Community Council.
(The external website above will open in a new window)
Near the village is a fine chambered tomb, Tinkinswood Burial Chamber, with a capstone measuring 15 feet by 22 feet.
St Nicholas is with the county borough of the Vale of Glamorgan.
